THE HERITAGE OF EASTERN ARAB MUSIC
THE POEM «AL KASSIDA»
The story of the poem or Al Arab eastern Kassida comes to us from time immemorial. This form of expression touches all subjects: patriotic, religious, satire, description or gallantry.
Poetry and poets have always populated the Arab-Muslim imagination and even pre-Islamic period to the point where poetry jousts were happening once a year to see the prince of claimers for the current year.
«AL MAWAL»
Poem or rhyming words in dialect based on harmony with meaning, words change places and having different meanings. This poem is sung form spontaneously.
«THE FOLKLORE»
These are popular songs sung in dialect when social circumstances marked by joy or sadness, for national holidays and religious celebrations.
«AL KOUDOUDS AL HALABIYA»
On the Soufie and religious inspiration, they are also folk songs but with other words inserted in the same rhythms. We notice the rhythmic unity in a diversified statement, but the purpose and words and rhythms are part of the same measure. This kind of song exists in Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, but flourished in Aleppo which worked for disclosure (Sabah Fakhri, Adib Al Dayekh, Mohamed Khairi, Sabri Moudallal).
«AL MOUWACHAH»
A musical style whose origin is Andalusian. It is directly inspired by poetry but can hold its local dialect language, rhyme remains fundamental. This is a genre that is characterized by the plurality of its rhythms and its measures.
«AL DAWR»
Or role play of a particular musical aspect, this is the kind most difficult to track in the Arab register. It is characterized by a first flight, followed by so-called movement: rhythmic phrases that launch the singer, accompanying every movement rhythm. Then comes the choral interjections ”Ah”, then the singer responds with the same interjections but in other rhythms, which will be taken. Finally, it is the turn of a rhythmic phrase repeated in his first impulse ; that is to say that there is an execution taking place in turns, hence the genius name.
